Ingredients:
3 cups stale home-style white bread cubes
1 to 1 1/2 cups raisins
4 large eggs, well beaten
1 cup granulated sugar or firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 cups milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions:
Layer bread cubes into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass baking dish.
Sprinkle
raisins over bread cubes; set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk eggs sugar and
butter together; add milk, cinnamon and vanilla; mixing well.
Pour mixture over
bread and raisins. Allow to set for 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C).
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until tested done when knife inserted in center
comes out clean.
